Berserker Rage

My love for you is ticking clock BERSERKER!” — Olaf Oleeson

Olaf said it loudest, but the warrior says it the best. One of the many tools the warrior class has available to it in the World of Warcraft MMO is the ever-versatile berserker stance. Here are the statistics for berserker rage in the online game:

The warrior enters a berserker rage, becoming immune to fear and incapacitate effects and generating extra rage when taking damage. Lasts 10 seconds.

I remember using this ability the most on Magmadar; he has a nasty fear that, as melee damage, I simply needed to be immune to. I certainly wasn’t burning up the damage meters, but every little bit counts. I have also used berserker rage in the arena a few times, especially against those nasty warlocks. Granting immunity to fear and incapacitate effects isn’t this ability’s only function; it also generates a fairly significant amount of extra rage when something is beating on you. If there’s one thing a warrior needs, it’s extra rage.

In the World of Warcraft TCG, Berserker Rage puts your Warrior into berserker mode—the more damage he takes, the more pain he dishes out. Against rush decks, Bulkas Wildhorn will get knocked around for the first couple turns, but when that fourth turn hits, he’ll go into Berserker Rage and start beating back at those Apprentice Teeps and Jeleane Nightbreezes. Five points of damage adds up pretty quickly; let’s take a look at just how long it might take to get there.

Opponent’s Play

Turn 1 – Apprentice Teep

Turn 2 – Jeleane Nightbreeze, attack with Apprentice Teep (2 damage)

Turn 3 – Battle Shout, attack with Teep and Nightbreeze (9 damage total)

On your next turn, you can run the Berserker Rage out there, and the opposing allies will be mincemeat. That is just short of +2 ATK; a couple more hits from those allies when they run their faces into Bulkas, and you will be over that 10 damage threshold. It is a shame you can’t make some nice +stamina food out of ground-up Alliance allies.
